Physio for musculo-skeletal pain

Rural Rother Primary Care Network (PCN) Physios

We have NHS physios that provide physiotherapy for our patients and those registered with other surgeries in Rural Rother as part of our Primary Care Network (PCN).

If you have bone, joint or muscle pain, you will be invited to see our physios instead of a GP. They will:

  • Assess you & diagnose what is happening
  • Give expert advice on how best to manage your condition
  • Refer you to specialist services if necessary

Your initial assessment will be on the telephone. This will include general advice and exercises. You will then be invited for a face to face appointment if required.

To request a referral to the physio, contact us online via Engage Online or contact our reception team.

East Sussex MSK Community Partnership: self-refer for NHS Physio

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and Horder Healthcare are now in Partnership to deliver Musculoskeletal care through the East Sussex MSK Community Partnership.

You can self-refer yourself online to their NHS physios. Visit eastsussexmsk.nhs.uk/gethelp

Self-help advice

The NHS provide self-help advice, including exercises, to help you with your bone, joint & muscle pain – see their links below:

You can also get advice and over the counter pain medication from a pharmacist. They can sell you a variety of different medication including some NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), paracetamol and some weak opioids (codeine or dihydrocodeine). If you buy painkillers that contain weak opioids and you need to take them for more than three days you must discuss this with your pharmacist or doctor.

If your pain continues for more than two weeks, please contact us to see a physio.
