Appointments

Patients may book to see any of the doctors in the practice either in advance or on the day.

Appointments can be booked online via the NHS App or by calling us on 01580 880790. Phone lines open at 8am.

When you call to book your appointment we endeavour to ensure that you are seen at your preferred location but this is not always possible. If you need to be seen on the same day we will offer you the first available appointment which could be at either location.

Our standard appointment time is 10 minutes but we can offer longer appointments, please ask at the time of booking. Please let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen as each patient needs a separate appointment.

If you have more than one problem that you would like to discuss during your appointment, please highlight this to the GP at the start of your appointment. Whilst the GP may not be able to deal with them all in a single, ten minute appointment, it will help them make a safe and effective plan for how these problems are prioritised and managed.

Telephone Consultations

You can have a telephone consultation with a doctor. Please call us for advice. The doctor will call you back at an agreed time on the telephone number you have provided.

Home visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible.  If you do need a home visit, please contact our Reception Team, ideally before 10.00am if possible.

Extended hours appointments

We offer evening appointments from 6.30pm to 8pm on Tuesdays at Oldwood Surgery; Wednesdays at Battle Health Centre; and Thursdays at Battle Health Centre. These appointments must be booked in advance. Appointments are also available with other local practices on Monday and Friday evenings 6.30pm to 8pm, Saturday mornings and by telephone on Sunday mornings. Contact our reception team for more information. You will need to give consent for external GPs to access your medical record.

Cancellations

Should you need to cancel, let us know as early as possible so the time slot can be made available to another patient. You can cancel by calling us on 01580 880790 or via the NHS App.

Non attendance

The surgery operates a non-attendance policy, as well as a late attendance policy, which means if you do not arrive at all or you arrive too late to be seen, we will contact you about the defaulted appointment.  In exceptional circumstances, due to consistent no-attendance, you might be asked to register with an alternative practice.

Chaperone service

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present during any consultation, examination or procedure. Clinicians will offer a chaperone during any intimate examination. This may be one of our specially trained administration staff or a nurse or Health Care Assistant. If you feel you would like a chaperone please ask at reception or mention it to your doctor or nurse.
