Musculo-skeletal pain

Suffering with musculo-skeletal pain can be common.

In the first two weeks, you can usually do things to ease the pain yourself by following the NHS guidance on the links below:

You can also get advice and over the counter pain medication from a pharmacist. They can sell you a variety of different medication including some NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), paracetamol and some weak opioids (codeine or dihydrocodeine). If you buy painkillers that contain weak opioids and you need to take them for more than three days you must discuss this with your pharmacist or doctor.

If your pain continues for more than 2 weeks, contact our e-hub via an Online Engage Consultation for advice. If you do not have online access, contact our reception team and book to see our Paramedic Practitioner. They can both refer you to our physio for assessment and advice.
