Accessibility

We have good disabled access at Battle Health Centre with:

  • Disabled parking bays
  • Ramp to access the building
  • Wide, automatic opening doors
  • Wide corridors to access the consulting rooms
  • Disabled toilet and baby change facilities

Our disabled access at Oldwood Surgery is more limited given the size and age of the building – we have plans for a new health centre for Robertsbridge. For now, our access includes:

  • Disabled parking bay
  • Ramp to access the building
  • Standard sized door which does not open automatically
  • Narrower corridors which can make it harder to manoeuvre wheelchairs to the consulting rooms
  • One patient toilet with baby change facilities

We have induction hearing loops in at both Oldwood Surgery and Battle Health Centre.

We are able to provide large print and alternative formats of documents if requested at reception.

Dr Lorna Davey is our lead GP for patients with learning disabilities. She oversees their care and offers them an annual review every year.

We aim to be autism friendly and would encourage you to tell us if there is something we can do that would help you when accessing our services. If yes, we can add a note to your patient records so our team are aware. Examples could be dimming the lights, having your appointment at the start or end of the day when our waiting room is quieter, explaining procedures clearly, booking a particular GP or giving warnings before physical touch.
