Flu vaccines

Flu vaccination is available every year on the NHS to help protect adults and children at risk of flu and its complications.

Flu clinics 2023

We are running our flu vaccination clinics on:

  • Thursday 28th September at Robertsbridge Village Hall at 2pm – 6.15pm
  • Saturday 30th September at Robertsbridge Village Hall at 8.30am – 11am
  • Saturday 7th October at Battle Health Centre at 8am – 11.30am

All eligible patients will be sent a text message inviting them to book an appointment online. If you do not have a mobile phone, please call our reception team to book on 01580 880790.

Who is eligible for the flu vaccine?

The below groups are eligible for a flu vaccine:

  • those aged 65 years and over
  • those aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
  • pregnant women
  • all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2023
  • primary school aged children (from Reception to Year 6)
  • those in long-stay residential care homes
  • carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
  • close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
  • frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers and those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants

On the day of your vaccine:

  • If you or a household contact have recently developed Covid symptoms, including a cough, fever, loss of taste or smell, please stay at home and do not attend the clinic
  • Please wear clothing that allows easy access to your preferred upper arm
  • Should you feel unwell, please talk to a member of the team

Children’s Clinics

We will be arranging separate children’s clinics. We will be in touch with the parents/carers of those eligible with dates. Children in primary school will be immunised by the School Nursing Team at school.
