You may have seen in the news that from 23 June 2025, people living with obesity and four or more diagnosed health conditions might have the opportunity to access Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) for weight loss support through their GP surgery.
NHS England have not yet told GPs how the service should be run. Once we have this information, we will assess whether we have the appointments and capacity to provide the service. If we do, we will contact eligible patients directly. Please do not contact us unless we ask you to.
Access to the medication goes hand in hand with support to help with eating habits and start/improve physical activity as part of a national wrap around service. Access to prescribed weight loss medication will be predicated on a patients engagement with this service.
